FAQs

What is EMDR?

EMDR is a trauma treatment that uses bilateral stimulation (i.e. eye-movements, tapping, vibrations) to process traumatic information effectively. The bilateral stimulation in EMDR desensitizes traumatic material (i.e. images, sounds, body sensations, etc.) to help decrease and eliminate disturbances. EMDR is also used to install positive information by strengthening neural networks in your brain that are associated with positive memories, thoughts, body sensations, and feelings.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

I do not offer sliding scale rates. I offer private pay at $145-170 per 45–60-minute for individual, couples, or family sessions.

What is ERP?

ERP therapy is a specialized treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other anxious disorders (i.e. phobias, social anxiety, etc.). In ERP therapy, the therapist exposes a client to anxious material in a safe and effective manner and then prevents them from completing an anxious response/compulsion (i.e. exposing a client afraid of germs to touching a doorknob without allowing them to wash their hands immediately after). By preventing an anxious response/compulsion, the brain learns how to regulate anxiety properly.
